International acclaim ...

June Tomada Young was born in Leyte, Philippines.

As a child, she watched her father sing with his band and the crowd atmosphere unleashed in June a desire to perform in front of an audience. Her father saw potential in his daughter and encouraged her to take singing lessons. Soon after, June enrolled in The Center for Pop Music, Philippines, and Ryan Cayabyab: The Music Studio. As well as singing lessons, her father also enrolled her in ballet, jazz and Hawaiian dance classes, piano lessons and - just for good measure - he even taught her how to play the guitar!

Known as Jonah Tomada, June began entering singing competitions around the Leyte region, and this soon led to nation-wide acclaim. She won competitions such as the Battle of Champions, The Singing Lark, National Search for the Singing Student and Best of the Best to name a few. Famous Filipino celebrities such as Regine Velasquez, Boy Abunda, Raymond Lauchengco and Dulce were among the judges.

Since 1983, June has performed across the Asia-Pacific region, stunning audiences with her remarkable voice. Among others, June has featured in the newspapers and magazines such as “The Phuket Gazette” in Thailand, “The Star” in the Philippines, and the “Surabaya Post” in Indonesia.

June was fortunate enough to perform in front of Ambassadors from around the world during the Philippine Benefit for International Street Children, hosted by the Ambassador of the Philippines, Romeo A. Arguelles, and his wife in Tokyo, Japan. She was also requested to sing during Earth and Animal Day 2006 in Singapore.

Her television appearances included “Martin after Dark” on Channel 7—one of the largest television network stations in the Philippines—and for Battle of Singers on IBC, Channel 13. She was also asked to sing for the “Search for Miss Asia Pacific 1994” held in Cebu City, Philippines.

After completing with her degree as a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Management, June had the opportunity to travel where she joined different bands touring in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Brunei, Vietnam, Singapore, China and Australia. She had the pleasure to work with other Filipinos, African-Americans and Canadians during her innumerable gigs.

Though she was already a vocal coach at a tender age of 16, June was inspired to gain formal teaching qualifications in singing. In 2005, she qualified as a
Certified Coach in Absolute Singing Mastery at Dreamquest Singing Academy in Australia. After several years teaching in Singapore and Jakarta, Indonesia June returned to a busy performance and teaching schedule on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia - where she is actively teaching in Woongarrah, Wyong, Warnervale and beyond.

She currently lives in Australia with her husband and their young daughter.
